Board of Supervisors, Seven Oaks Community Development District

How these organizations are similar but very different By Bill Parsons, Vice Chairman, Seven Oaks CDD When my wife and I were in the process of buying a house at Seven Oaks in 2002, the sales associate told us that the Seven Oaks Property Owners’ Association (SOPOA) was just like a Homeowners’ Associations (HOA).  Since we had previously lived in a community with an HOA, we had an idea of its function but had no idea of what it required the homeowners to do as we were focused on the contract for the house and ... As a reminder, in Seven Oaks the main road speed limit is 30 mph, inside each sub-division the limit is 20 mph.  It is important to remember that the road system was designed to be used at the listed speeds, or below, and driving any faster puts yourself, our community property, and our families at risk. CDD Employees Save Money

5465131

The CDD maintenance staff is a major line item in our budget, but when compared to the expense of not having them, they are probably worth their weight in gold. In the CDD budget for next year (October 1, 2014 – September 30, 2015), we have $282,166 for salaries, taxes, workers compensation, and health insurance for the five CDD maintenance employees plus the estimated cost of a sixth employee should we decide to hire one. In this article, I want to show you why the Board feels that this is money well spent. One of ... Read More »
