The Resident Council is a communication vehicle that helps link the entire Seven Oaks Community. The Council consists of one Representative from each of the neighborhoods within Seven Oaks who is responsible for bringing the concerns of that neighborhood to the Resident Council monthly Meetings (first Tuesday of the month) for discussion. The Council sifts through these concerns and determines if they should be directed toward the CDD Board, the SOPOA Board (HOA), the Developer, or a government entity for an appropriate solution. The Resident Council Representatives, using the email addresses of the homeowners within their subdivision, can alert their neighbors about proposed changes to the status-quo, whether they are considered to be positive or negative and offer unified response initiatives to preserve the quality of life for Seven Oaks residents.

Using email contacts that Representatives have collected from each neighborhood we can deliver community-wide notices regarding crime, lost pets, etc. throughout the entire Community. I have asked the Resident Council Representatives to ring doorbells in their neighborhoods so that these email contact lists can be made even more effective by acquiring more email addresses and by updating the ones that we already have. Please provide them with your email address, which will not be shared with anybody except your neighborhood Representative and will not be used for commercial purposes. Your neighborhood Representative will send you the “Agenda” for the next Meeting and the “Minutes” from the previous Meeting, in case you were unable to attend. I encourage all of you to attend and participate in these Meetings. We hope to have some interesting and informative guests at our meetings and we will be planning some community-wide social events, as well. The Resident Council has created the "Seven Oaks Homeowner's Reference Sheet" which defines what the SOPOA Board is responsible for, what the CDD Board is responsible for, and who to call for solutions to a specific problem. I know that there is a lot of confusion concerning “who does what,” and we are determined to help clarify this for us all (including myself).

Your Resident Council Representatives were instrumental in spreading the word about the proposed Mental Health Facility construction within Seven Oaks via this email contact list mechanism. The email barrage received by the State Agency (AHCA) responsible for granting the Certificate of Need for this facility, after Resident Council Representatives alerted the Community, definitely attracted their attention and great effort is still being expended by the Council’s committee members to help convey to those involved (the State, the County, and the investment group responsible for the facility) that this facility should be placed further north and east within Pasco to better serve the needs of those most likely to use it (Baker Act/Marchman Act patients). 
We are currently missing Resident Council Representatives from the following neighborhoods: Copperleaf, Coventry, Lakeside, and Brookforest. Please remember that a Resident Council Representative must only attend one monthly meeting, and forward the Meeting “Minutes” and Meeting “Agenda” that you receive from me to your neighborhoods via your email contact list. That is it! Remember that the input of every neighborhood is necessary to provide the power for your  Seven Oaks Resident Council to be effective. I am extremely excited about the year ahead and I know that we all feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful community! Your active participation is the best insurance that it will always remain that way
